OHSIRIS proposes an open data space infrastructure for research and industrial services

The OHSIRIS team will develop a technological and service infrastructure based on federated access to health data to streamline its use and maximize its value. To achieve this, a shared governance framework is being developed for managing health data based on the harmonization of policies and procedures related to health data access and exploitation in a transparent, reliable, and fair manner.

Benefits

  • Common and streamlined data access procedures
  • Secure and federated analysis environments
  • Interoperability and data quality

Who We Are

A network of excellence centers in health data management

This space includes 7 initial health data providers with a reference population of 4.5 million people across 6 regions. Collaboration with these providers and other initial participants will enable 5 use cases and a set of 12 initial services, which aim to accelerate clinical research processes, reduce the time to develop new treatments and medical products, evaluate health technologies, and make market access and reimbursement decisions. Additionally, the project will promote active citizen/patient participation in exercising their rights and freedoms concerning health data management, including mechanisms to facilitate their involvement in research or innovation studies.
